This is a recording of a seminar given to a group of doctoral students participating in the the Cambridge ‘Forming a Christian Mind’ programme in December 2021.
The second in a two-part mini-series, this session develops the idea of biblical “figures” introduced in the previous session. We focus on one biblical figure in particular, the creator-creature distinction, contrasting it to the modern world’s prevailing monism. The “n-shaped” and “u-shaped” dynamics are introduced as ways of grasping some of the fundamental differences between the implications of monism and the creator-creature distinction respectively. The first video in the series is available here.
